Important Note

Lemonade is best friends with Orange Blossom. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Lemonade and Orange Blossom go together like peanut butter and jelly. These two wonderful cats have been together for several years. They were originally brought to Tree House in June of 2006 as kittens after being found outside by a good Samaritan. Adopted a year later in 2007, Lemonade and Orange Blossom spent 9 years in their home before returning to Tree House in June of 2016 after faultless reasoning due to environmental changes in the home. If you are looking for an affectionate bonded pair - these two will be the purrfect companions for you and your family. Lemonade loves to cuddle in laps and Orange Blossom will be your shadow. Lemonade and Orange Blossom love human interaction! They would do best in a home without dogs or young children. Lemonade and Orange Blossom depend on their quiet space to feel comfortable and confident! Take this amazing pair home today!

About Tree House Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Tree House is a humane organization that promotes the inherent value of every animal and strives to educate the public about proper and responsible animal care, with a focus on the care and placement of stray cats with special physical and emotional needs. We are committed to finding every healthy and treatable animal a home.

Tree House was founded in 1971 and since that time we have expanded and enhanced our programs and services to become the largest, no-kill, cageless shelter for sick, injured, abused and neglected cats in the Chicagoland area. To date we have found homes for nearly 14,000 cats. In addition to our focus on the rehabilitation and adoption of stray cats, we offer many other valuable programs and services, including our Free Spay/Neuter Program, Pet Loss Grief Support Group, Humane Investigations Team, Youth Volunteer Program, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Behavior Hotline, Pet Food Pantry, and Education Outreach Program.

Our Adoption Process...

At Tree House, trained adoption counselors interview prospective adopters to understand their needs, and then adopters are escorted to the Adoption Floor to choose their future friend. Adopters are encouraged to take as much time as they need to find a cat. All adoption applications stay on file for three months so please don't feel that you need to rush to choose a companion cat right away.

Your adoption fee of $85 covers the cost of your cat's care at Tree House including: spay or neuter, deworming, flea treatment, FIV and FeLV testing, AVID microchip, veterinary examination, and all necessary vaccinations. We also give a 30-day health guarantee on all of our adoptions.
