Facts about Doc

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever/Border Collie Mix
  • Color: White - With Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Doc is a one-and-a-half year old Labrador-Border Collie mix (he may possibly have Pointer in him as well) who looks forward to going outside and being active. Doc was going to be owner-surrendered to us, but the family found it more convenient to take him to the local shelter. So we pulled him and brought him to the Menagerie so he could have a better chance at finding his new forever home. Doc’s owners gave him up because he is a very high-energy, active dog. They kept him outside most of the time and when he was inside, he was in a crate. So like most dogs, when he was free in the house he would be overly excited. The family used to give him sedatives to keep him calm as well. So we want to find him a forever family who will give him the love, attention, and active lifestyle he really desires. A family who is willing to work with him on getting his energy out each day, whether that be going for a walk or run, throwing a ball in the park, or wrestling around in the back yard. He would make a great running partner because he absolutely loves to run.

Doc is a very smart dog and hes is eager to learn and would do well with an owner who enjoys working with and training dogs. He gets along very well with other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats. He has not acted negatively around the birds at the Menagerie either. Doc has not been around small children, but does great with bigger kids. A family with young children may not be the best fit for his active personality though. He is also house and crate trained and is working on leash training. He is doing very well with his basic commands too.

If you’re looking for an active, happy, and playful companion to enjoy the outdoors with, Doc would be a great fit for your family. He would love to find his new forever home today.

About Fullmer Menagerie Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an animal welfare organization that rescues animals in dire need of assistance from shelters, abandonment, poor living situations, etc.

Fullmer Menagerie Animal Rescue is a not for profit, 501c3, all volunteer, no-kill organization dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, abused or neglected animals by providing them with shelter, care, and rehabilitation both medically and emotionally. Further, we continuously strive to promote the importance of spaying and neutering. We offer training to help with problem animals as opposed to giving them up for adoption or surrender to a shelter.
