Nurturing - Independent - Sassy
Alfreda lost her forever home when her human passed away; she was left home alone for weeks before someone found her and nursed her back to health. Although she's been through a rough patch, Alfreda is a resilient gal who has bounced back and is ready for a new forever home.
Once Alfreda came to APA!, it was discovered that she is wonderful with other cats - she loves kittens and has even nursed a few. She also cuddles up to senior hospice cats. Perhaps she empathizes with other felines who have also had a tough time or perhaps she simply likes other cats; either way, she'd be great in a multi-cat home, provided the other cats are as easygoing as she is.
Of course, Alfreda does have her limits and she's not afraid to let you know if she's over something by swatting with her paw. She enjoys being around people, but she's not a big cuddler and doesn't have time for kids who aren't cat savvy. She will let you know if she wants to be petted - she needs humans who will respect her bodily integrity, please. Alfreda would prefer a forever home with adults who can appreciate her independent, funny, and sometimes sassy personality. In turn, she will reward you with a very low-maintenance companion with an adorably serious-yet-smooshy face. While she loves to throw down with toy mice, she's past the crazy kitten stage and will actually let you sleep at night.
Alfreda has excellent litter box and scratching manners. Despite her sassy nature, she will let you trim her nails without too much protest. She has a wonderfully gravelly voice (think Bea Arthur with whiskers) and loves to chat over a good meal.
Alfreda has shown great strength and character during the most trying time in her life; now this broad is seeking a forever home where her humans will respect her space, enjoy her company, and toss a few mice around for her.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
