Jesse's Story...
Jesse was rescued out of a kill shelter just in time. She was left abandoned at her home after the family moved away. The neighbor contact the shelter and she found herself on death row. This sweet estimated two year old yellow lab female is HW positive which we will treat and over 95 pounds. Jesse loves people and water and gets along great with other dogs. She is doing great on a leash and crate training. Jesse is working on losing a few extra pounds and is starting Heart Worm treatment. Jesse is super friendly and just loves everyone. She will make a great addition to any family and deserves one that will love her unconditionally as she does people. She will require a privacy fenced in yard because even though she's a big girl she can climb like any monkey. wink emoticon;-)

Please consider adopting Jesse and go to our website to complete the pre-adoption application http://www.southernskiesrescue.org/ If you can help with heart worm treatment sponsorship please contact us or make a donation at http://www.southernskiesrescue.org/ We depend on individual donations and without them we cannot continue to do what we do to help these poor dogs and puppies in need. Heart worm treatment is a big expense especially on a big dog and even though we charge an adoption fee it doesn't cover the cost of heart worm treatment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jesse, a Huntsville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
