Squirt's Story...
Squirt is a nervous girl born to a totally feral momma. Even though Squirt has been raised in a loving foster home since the day she was born, handled and cuddled every single day, she seems to have picked up a lot of traits from her Mom. Squirt is a beautiful kitty, she loves fuzzy blankets and will nap on piles of laundry. But, Squirt is a very untrusting kitty. She loves being close to you, but will bolt when she doesn't feel safe. Sudden movements are scary and though she wants to almost be touching you, actual touch is often too much. Squirt will take a while to warm up. Her foster family has worked tirelessly earning her trust and giving her the space she requires. It will take patience and understanding to gain her love. We don't recommend Squirt for a family that has children under the age of 10. She does use her claws when afraid and can scratch when picked up. If you think you have the patience to give this beauty a quiet and loving home, please complete an application at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Squirt, a Wichita Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wichita, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Wichita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wichita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wichita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wichita paves the way for another one to be saved.
