Meet Barbie (calico) and Stephanie (gray & white tabby) are 2 of the 9 WLBT "Mews Kittens" found a couple of weeks ago at the TV station without a mama. They are 8-9 week old females with sweet dispositions and healthy appetites. All these precious babies were in bad shape when they first came to CARA. They struggled with upper respiratory infections and were infested with fleas. Luckily we had wonderful volunteers from Horne LLP volunteering that day. They jumped right in to help bathe, feed and de-flea the poor kitties. Fast forward 2 weeks and these precious kittens are ready for their forever homes! If anyone is looking for that special addition to their family, please come meet the WLBT Mews Kittens: Walt, Wilson, Michael, Stribling, Maggie, Barbie, Marsha, Stephanie and Gaylene!

About CARA

About Our Shelter...

CARA -- Community Animal Rescue & Adoption, Inc., is a True No Kill animal shelter located in Jackson, MS, that cares for an average of 300 dogs and 120 cats daily. We do not receive any funding from the city, county, state or federal government and operate exclusively through the generosity of our community by private donations from individuals, businesses, & fundraising events. Our primary goals are to place our adoptable pets in loving, caring homes and to educate the public on responsible pet ownership including why spay/neuter is so important. Please donate to our cause and volunteer as we strive to better the lives of pets in Mississippi.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an application be submitted and reviewed by our Adoption Committee. Adoption fees that cover vaccination, spay and neuter services apply.
