Ruby is a female 35-lb. red pocket pit bull who was born about January 2015. She is a beautiful, happy, affectionate, and energetic young adult. She does not know commands such as "sit" or "wait" yet but is eager to please and very smart. She reads body language quite well.
Ruby is crate trained and apparently house trained as she's never had an accident in her foster mom's house. She seems to like the large crate she sleeps in. Ruby doesn't have experience with cats and has a predator's interest in her foster mom's cats as well as others she sees on walks or in the neighbor's yard.
Ruby was found as a stray and turned into a local kill shelter. Her foster mom/ rescuer suspects that Ruby was obtained solely to have puppies, bred at her first heat, and sadly never given much attention. After the puppies were sold, she probably either ran away or was dumped.
Ruby is such a sweet young girl, who has so much love to give, that she deserves a second chance, and this time in a loving, permanent home (without cats). Won't you let this intelligent, eager-to-please ruby-red gal be your next 4-legged companion? You'll never regret it! (She comes with a year's supply of HeartGard for the right adopter.)
Ruby is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Her adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Ruby, and we can arrange for you to meet her.

About Buster's Friends

About Our Rescue Group...

Buster’s Friends was created in memory of Jennifer Fields. Jennifer spent countless hours rescuing and fostering hundreds of Houston’s homeless animals prior to losing her battle to cancer in May 2009. As a tribute to Jennifer and her dedication, we named the group after her beloved dog Buster, who made the journey to the Rainbow Bridge in August 2008.
