Wesley's Story...
Meet Wesley! At 4 years old, this German Shepherd is quite the looker. He's a bit underweight (and we've put him on high quality food to help him gain a few pounds), but that doesn't take away from his good looks. Wesley is good with other dogs and older kids and is kennel-trained. He pulls a little on the leash, so he would benefit from some consistent training. Wesley is treat-motivated, which will help with some basic obedience work. He's pretty calm -- not a jumper -- and ready to learn.

If you want to apply for Wesley, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wesley, a Meridian German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Meridian, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
