Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Cabell (No, not cowbell- Ca-BELL!) I am a sweet and petite little girl, about 4 years old, and weighing in at only 20 pounds. As you can see by my pictures, I have beautiful red and white coloring and a kissable copper nose! Speaking of kissable, I love people! I love people of all ages! I want to jump in your lap the minute you sit down, and I even get along great with my foster mom’s 3 year old granddaughter. I love giving kisses so much that foster mom is actually working with me to tone it down a little!
I had a pretty rough start to life, and maybe that’s what I’m making up for! I didn’t have a lot of interaction with people and was left alone outside, so I really want to be close to my people now. EVERYTHING about being a house pet was new to me! That solitary life also made it kind of tough for me to adjust to living with other dogs. When I first got here, I tried to pick fights, push the other dogs around, and show them I was tough, but I am getting better and learning to adapt. I get along with some of the other dogs here, but I’m still kind of pushy around the Alpha dog and the submissive ones. Still, foster mom thinks that I will do better as an only dog, or with dogs who aren’t either Alpha or submissive. A family with rescue experience would be best to help me continue to learn.
I have lots of energy and love to run crazy laps around the yard. When someone goes to the door, I want to dart right out between their legs and take off running! A fenced yard would help with that, or my forever family will have to be prepared to help me burn off that energy and not let me escape! I am crate trained, but prefer to sleep on a dog bed next to my foster mom’s bed. I am house trained, and use a doggie door when I need to go out. I do ok walking on leash and can potty while leashed if I need to. I am Ok with sharing my home with cats, and I ride great in the car.
So you see, I have an awful lot going for me! I think I am a pretty special girl, and I’m looking for a pretty special home! Could that be you? I promise to shower you with love and kisses! Contact Midwest BREW and ask to find out more about Cabell!
