Abagail was turned in as a stray to the Hayward shelter. She was in the shelter for four months, and struggled with the anxiety of shelter life and interacting with strangers.
Another dog at the shelter, Sienna - a Chihuahua - was also struggling with being handled and anxiety, so the shelter kenneled the two dogs together. It was a great idea as both dogs faced their shelter anxiety and fears together. When Nobody's Perfekt Dogs went looking for the next dog to take into foster care, we knew we had to take both of them, as it would have been devastating for the one left behind.
Once both dogs were out of the shelter and in a home setting, they really started to blossom. Abagail is very playful with other dogs - her energy is very Jack Russell. She is slowly warming up to the humans, with the help of Sienna.
We are not insisting that they be adopted together, but it would be a nice happy ending for both of them.
