Tiger's Story...
Tiger is a happy, friendly kitten, outgoing and playful born about Oct 2015. He loves people, and wants to hang out with his humans wherever they are. He has a gentle, loving nature and loves to talk, and has a cute little meow. He can be a bit shy at first, but once he is comfortable with you he’s a real love bug. He even does well with large groups of guests – he’ll watch for a moment at first, but then quickly warms up and wants to be the center of attention. He doesn't mind being picked up and carried around, especially when treats are in the mix.

Tiger loves to run around the house, and play time is his absolute favorite time of the day. He loves all toys with bells on them and no matter where he is in the house, when he hears a bell he comes running! His current favorite toy is a mouse or feathers on a string, and favorite game is flying around pretending it’s a bird! He’s always up for a little wrestling or catching the "mouse" under the blanket. Tiger sometimes uses his claws or teeth in play, and that can frighten young children. So it’s important that he be given lots of structured, energetic playtime.

Tiger needs another young, playful cat to exercise with also. He enjoys all other cats, but really needs the active play time to practice his hunting skills. He’ll do best with one or two other young cat friends.

Tiger was abandoned on the street in Washington, DC. People told a 4Paws volunteer about little orange kitten all alone, and one night she saw some neighbors trying to rescue him! They worked together to get him in their house. He lived with a nice family and two cats, but their toddler was afraid of the active kitten. Now Tiger needs a home with new friends, young cats to play with, and lots of love! Best if there are no small children!

Tiger has rabies and FVRCP vaccinations & tests negative for FIV/FeLV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tiger, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
