Tucker's Story...
What an absolute darling! This little boy was just owner surrendered and is understandably confused in his new surroundings, but that doesn't stop him from giving love to the volunteers here at the Rescue. He will willingly climb into your lap for a snuggle, will gently accept food from your hand, and will stand still so that you can give him head rubs and ear scratches. Tucker totally knows how to get attention. At 8 months old, this Dachshund/Chihuahua mix is ready to find a family who will love him for his whole life. Might that be you?

If you want to apply for Tucker, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tucker, a Meridian Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
