I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Gio's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Gio's Story...
Can you handle this rebellious heartthrob?

Gio is the master at playing "hard to get" and really, he has to pick you, not the other way around. He is a picky man and only cares for certain people. However, the people he likes, he LOVES! Gio will fit in well to a home that does not have many visitors or children.

Gio does excellently with other dogs and doesn't mind cats one bit. He is housetrained and an easy to care for pup at around 6-7 years of age. He's all for naps and loves giving his favorite humans plenty of kisses! He has a quirky personality, so if you're prepared for a fiesty little pal that will stick by you, but not care much for many others, then Gio could be your man!

If you're interested in Gio, please call 804-991-3200 before coming to meet him. He is currently being fostered by an employee, so we want to ensure he will be at the shelter before you make the drive to see him! You can also email us at or message us on Facebook “Prince George County Animal Shelter”!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gio, a Prince George Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Prince George, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Prince George.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Prince George already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Prince George breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Prince George paves the way for another one to be saved.
