Tiny little Abby is a ball of energy.  She can run like the wind and retrieve a tennis ball almost faster than you can throw it.  We think Abby was abused at some point in her young life.  She is frightened around new people until she has a chance to get to know them. Altho she does not like to be picked up she will jump into your lap and stay there happily for a long time. She shows her fear aggression by nipping at fingers. She needs someone who is familiar with Chihuahuas, and who has the knowledge that it will take patience for Abby and her owner to get to know each other and love each other. She is a very loving dog once she gets to know you. Her adopter has to be willing to take the time to win her trust.  If you would like to meet Abby and learn about our foster to adopt program, come by the shelter or call Laura 770-298-1306.

Abby's adoption is at no cost to an approved adopter.  Abby has been spayed, disease tested (dogs testing positive for heartworms are treated; however, we do not add that charge to our adoption fee), given age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and is up to date with flea/tick & heartworm prevention.  A 24Petwatch microchip will be listed in the adopter’s name and the adopter will receive 30 days of 24PetWatch pet insurance.

About Georgia SPCA

About Our Shelter...

Georgia SPCA is an adoption agency that rescues dogs and cats from GA shelters that are in danger of euthanasia. Once we pull an animal, it is vaccinated, quarantined for health reasons, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks AND spayed or neutered prior to being placed up for adoption. We spay and neuter ALL of our pets including puppies and kittens.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are open M-F 11-7, Sat 11-5 and Sun 1-4. The GA SPCA is on Buford Hwy is between McGinnis Ferry Rd. and Sugarload Parkway. We also have cats and kittens available for adoptions daily at the Flowery Branch Petsmart.

Our Adoption Process...

We begin our process with an adoption application. Once approved we sign a contract with the adopter. There is an adoption fee which varies depending on what type of pet. Our adoption fees help us pay for normal business expenses and animal care such as spay/neuter, vaccinations, Feline Leukemia and FIV testing for cats, Heartworm testing for dogs, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm prevention and microchips.
