Shelby's Story...
Shelby is a six-month-old black and white female cat. Shelby was found wandering an inner city street, and she was somewhat nervous and disheveled. We suspect because she was no longer a kitten, she was turned out to fend for herself. Shelby has relaxed into a very affectionate and playful little girl. She loves attention, loves to play with her toys, and especially loves to play with humans. Shelby starts to purr the moment she sees you, and you can see the happiness in her little face when you stop to visit her!

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, and testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelby, a Warwick Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Warwick, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Warwick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warwick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warwick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warwick paves the way for another one to be saved.
