Paulie (Paul)'s Story...
Meet one of the newest members of our pack, Paulie. Paul for short. He is a great little senior chihuahua man. He weighs 6 1/2 lbs and loves to cuddle with his foster mom. He leans in and wants to snuggle against her neck sometimes like giving her a hug. He paws at her hand for more pets. He is at least 10 years old and needs daily pain meds for arthritis discomfort that cost $28 monthly. He uses potty pads and goes outside. He is looking for the special home who will love him for the rest of his life. If you would like more information on adopting Paulie, please email us at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paulie (Paul), a Shawnee Mission Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Shawnee Mission, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Shawnee Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shawnee Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shawnee Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shawnee Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
