My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well hello there! Thank you for reading about me and wanting to learn more about me! My name is Sunny Mae, yes, that’s right, I am a southern bell. I came to SCLRR with my foster sister Daisy Ma, and she is also available for adoption. It would mean the world to us to get to be together in our forever home. We hope our adoptive parents are willing to take us both since we are such good girls! I definitely have the blonde hair and personality to show for it. I believe in being respectful to my foster parents and foster brother. I never take his toys away from him, and I understand the word no pretty well. Since I am 9 years old I may have some trouble hearing and need to gently be touched and realize you are talking to me for me to realize I shouldn’t be doing something. Don’t let my age fool you! I am mistaken for a younger lady all the time! I weigh about 80 lbs.

I love to relax and hang out by my foster parents and foster brother all day. Whatever room they go into, I am right by there side just in case they feel the need to get some attention from me. I love to nap as much as possible throughout the day, especially if I get my daily walks. Taking my foster parents out on walks are one of my favorite things to do every day. Other than that, I love to fetch the tennis ball. My foster parents are always over the moon excited that I bring it back and drop the ball for them every time. My foster brother doesn’t like to retrieve as much as I do.

Although I have the nose of a lab and can smell food out from the other room, I really shouldn’t be eating any human food, and should only stick to my grain free diet, including treats. It really isn’t good for my skin or ears, so I need a family who understands that and will implement that. I also love my crate. It’s where I feel comfortable and calm, especially when my foster parents go away for a couple hours, or to sleep in at night. Although my foster brother doesn’t sleep in a crate and he roams free, I really do prefer my crate with a comfy mat inside.

I am looking to adopt a family that has another friendly and mellow dog, who likes to go on daily walks, or the occasional beach day (I really love chasing the tennis ball at the beach and going for a swim). I really hate being left outside and need to be in the house the majority of the time and only have access to outside when I can come back in the house. Don’t worry, I am house trained and haven’t had any accidents with my foster parents because they let me out to do my business often. I am also looking for a forever family who is home more often than not so that I can relax and just be with them. I absolutely love my foster parents niece and nephew’s; especially because I can give them kisses without even needing to try. I am not to fond of cats and would prefer to not be around them. Although, if I see cats or other dogs on my walks I may gave a shout out to say hello, I continue on my walk with my foster parents. I am a really happy girl, and know that I want to adopt a family that I can make even happier. Making my foster parents happy is the best feeling in the world, and it makes me smile so big.
