Meet Rocky, the adorable freckle faced, speckle footed, googley eyed brindle boxer. Rocky came to OSCAR after spending 2 ½ months in a California shelter with little to no interest (how can that be?!?).
He is a 7 year old, 60 pounds, tiger-striped package of love. Rocky is a dog lover, a rough and tumble player, a champion snuggle bug and an expert at the boxer lean and kiss. In calm environments he is very good at demonstrating all of his polite skills such as sit, lie down, stay, off and go to bed.
He has a quiet raspy bark that he uses sparingly and is a little stiff in the hips in the morning but it they don’t seem to stop him from enjoying all of the doggy pleasures in life.
Rocky is not wild about being crated, but there’s really no need for that anyway, as he is housetrained and completely trustworthy to be left out to roam free. He tolerates baths, but they’re not on his top 10 list. Rocky is still working on his leash manners. He walks beautifully on leash 90% of the time, but can be a bit reactive when stressed.
His foster parents are working with him on that. Rocky loves car rides, the park, treats, snuggles, going for walks, food and human contact. If you are looking for a primed pup, past his crazy teenage years, with plenty of pep left in his step, look no further.
Rocky would love a home that has lots of human snuggles, understanding of some of his quirks as he works through them and gains confidence, and buddy to play with when snuggle time is over.
