Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UNDER SAVING PAWS CARE Meet Velvet. We rescued this poor thing from MCACC West mid July 2016. Velvet was dumped at the shelter by her owners because they didn't want to bother to treat her EPI - Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) in Dogs, which makes them unable to digest their food properly. It is easy and cheap to treat, with good quality food and an enzyme you sprinkle on it. Without it, dogs waste away to nothing, like Velvet. Velvet is nothing but a bag of bones and weighs about 40 lbs. Her skin is a horrible mess as you can see, and this is NOT related to the EPI. In fact we do not know what caused this, but the vet is working on it. Over the weekend, Velvet has improved greatly. She is receiving the proper food and enzymes, and is much "brighter" today. She is a very sweet girl, and we have her up and running in no time! Thank you to the many of you out there who donated for her care. We also had some folks donate some of the enzymes needed. Thank you all! You will get lots of updates on this pretty girl as she improves and gets closer to being ready for her forever home. You can follow her progress on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SavingPawsRescue As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet & greets with an approved application! Here is the link: http://savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/ All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many of our volunteers juggle family, and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
