My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweetest Dog Ever Needs Someone to Love
7-year-old, large, male, black and tan, German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with children: Unknown, but likely
Denver is a big softie. He was rescued from Maricopa County Animal Care & Control and was thought to have a broken leg. SPR couldn’t leave him there in pain, so we took him in and got him right into the vet. Luckily, no broken leg at all. He’s just fine.
Talk about a gentle giant! Denver’s foster mom reports that he is the first to greet her at the door and bid her good bye and that he loves to lay his head in her lap on the sofa. He even shares well with his foster fur siblings without jealousy. He also loves to play a good game of tug, although he doesn’t really know what to do with a ball. And he is very well behaved in the house and doesn’t even need to be crated. He’s content just laying around napping. He is house trained and uses the doggie door. And he does wonderfully on a leash. This fellow has it all! He’s a big guy, so he sometimes bumps into his foster mom, but she said he gives her kisses right away when he realizes he bumped into her. How sweet is that?
As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
