Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our pets based on personality, not breed label.

Moose is a 55 pound 1 to 1-1/2 year old Pitbull/lab mix doggie. He is a happy furry fellow very sweet and loving with all people. Moose loves to play, chase balls, but most of anything he likes to play with water, get a hose out, turn the water on and let the fun begin, he will chase the water stream forever. Moose is a well behaved dog, but being a very high energy doggie, at times he is rough while playing, he can get a little mouthy if the play gets very rough. Moose walks well on leash, though sometimes when curious he pulls; knows how to sit, stay and working on his basic commands, he is clicker savvy. Moose is house trained and crate trained.

Moose is too smart to be permitted to misbehave, Moose, requires a firm, yet loving training and guidance. To be Moose’s foster or adopter you must be one step tougher and smarter than him. Don’t think that tough means harsh or abusive. Moose is very sensitive and will not deal well with rough treatment. Abusive treatment with Moose will result in a dog with a broken spirit and or worse, an aggressive temperament, I am sure he will answer physical abuse with aggression.

Moose gets along well with most dogs, when the chemistry is there he is wonderful, but he pesters others, not that he is aggressive but he can be rude with some dogs, he will chase squirrels and cats are out of the question. That said, he does not like aggressively barking dogs. Here at the kennel, he plays hard with a couple of dogs, a small young pit girl, a SharPei/Sttaforshire mix female, and others including other males, he goes about his business leaving them alone. He is taken to Pestmart often and he is always very friendly to people including children, and a gentleman with other doggies there. Being young, Moose is full of energy and being a high energy furry person who needs a lot of exercise he will do well with someone who likes to play, hike, run and then go home and snuggle.

Moose is up to date on all his vaccinations, he is heartworm negative in excellent health and microchipped.
