8/1- Meet Ruth, a sweet Pointer/Boxer mix of 18 months. She was found almost starved to death on a two lane road. As hungry as she was she was happy just to have human contact. She is healthy now and has energy to burn. Ruth is wonderful with other dogs and does not push to be the alpha. She is happy just being Ruth and having a home. We do not recommend that she be placed in a home with cats. Ruth wants to play, but the cats would be annoyed and because of her energy level she could hurt them by accident. She has not been around small children. Ruth is crate trained and is a very easy to please dog. She is a humble, sweet girl and when you look into her eyes you know the gratitude she feels towards you. Love shines from her eyes and you can actually feel it.

The adoption fee of $375 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, heartworm test (neg), microchip, USDA interstate health certificate (for transport only) and transport fee. Please go to our site for general information and the adoption application. The application is the first step in all adoptions/inquiries. This is not a link; please type in into a new browser window. At this time, we are unable to adopt to Rhode Island residents. Please note: Pups marked “pending” are adopted but not yet traveled home. They are to be considered unavailable. Thank you. About For Dogs Sake

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, volunteer organized and run dog rescue. We work with shelters and rescue groups in AR & AL to find homes for their locally unwanted, but highly loveable puppies and dogs. The pups and dogs are brought to New England on transport once their vaccinations are up to date for travel. We are always in need of foster homes for our pups; the more we have, the more pups can be saved.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Appointments can be made to visit some pups at their foster homes at mutually convenient times for adopters and foster parents. (The pups are up for a visit anytime!)

Our Adoption Process...

We require the potential adopter to fill out an application form and tell us about what life would be like as a puppy at your house. The address to the adoption form can be found in the pups' bio. Once the application is received, we will check your references and then contact you for an informal "phone interview." If it is mutually determined to be a good match, an adoption contract is sent via email. Our adoption fee is stated in their bios, and is due at the time of adoption. A signed and dated adoption contract is due at puppy pick up.
