MEET CARTER!! **Please Note: This is a courtesy post for another rescue; different adoption fees/policy apply.

Hi there. My name is Carter. What's yours?

The first and most important thing you need to know about me is that I am very loyal. I will stay by your side through thick and thin and love you no matter what. Whether you want to go for a walk or a ride in the car, I'm right there ready to join you. Another thing you should know about me is that I am very smart. I know how to walk on a leash, go to the bathroom outside, and obey basic commands. I'm eager to learn more and please you if you're willing to teach me.

I do sometimes have problems with small dogs because of my size, but I try and love everyone and everything. I love toys and treats, especially dog bones! I will do tricks for them or give you my adorable puppy dog eyes until you give in.

In my forever home, I'm looking for a companion that knows how to take care of a dog like me. I want someone who is active and loves going for lots of walks. And, of course, I would love to be spoiled rotten!

About Underdog Rescue of Arizona

About Our Rescue Group...

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We attend multiple adoption events throughout the valley during Spring and Fall.
If you are interested in a specific pet, please complete our adoption application found on our website and we can then coordinate a meet and greet.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website:

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.
