MemphisMcPurr's Story...
Approx DOB: November 2007

Handsome, playful, affectionate, multi-lingual, middle-aged feline looking for an open lap and someone to love. Preferably a bachelor like myself who appreciates fine catnip, a comfortable couch, and purr sessions with the one that you love. Will also consider a female roommate, as long as she’s willing to play with me and promises to NEVER make me wear silly clothing. Must be a home with no kids and no other cats. Willing to consider a larger, quiet dog, but I prefer to be the center of your universe, as you will be the center of mine.

I love my foster family and they love me… but unfortunately, sharing my people and my home with multiple cats REALLY stresses me out. Please help me find a home where I can be happy and relaxed. In return, I will provide daily antics guaranteed to make you laugh, an endless supply of love and adoration, and I will be your furry soul mate for life… and trust me, I’ve got LOTS of years left ahead of me!! (I’m up to date on all of my vaccines, and recent exam/blood work proves I’m in excellent shape!)

This kitty has had initial vaccinations, de-worming, flea preventative, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and been micro-chipped and altered (or will be micro-chipped and altered prior to adoption).

Adoption fee is 1/2 off for the second kitty adopted at same time. Adoption application, phone interview, home visit, and adoption fee required (+ PA Sales tax).

If you are interested in adopting a kitty(s), we ask that you complete an on-line adoption application to get the process started. To apply, simply go to / ADOPT tab / CAT Adoption Application. You will receive a welcome email once your application has been assigned to a volunteer processor (this should be within 72 hours of submitting an application). If you do not receive such an email, contact Once your application has been processed (this can take approx. 10-14 days), we will arrange contact with the foster to schedule a time to meet kitties you might be interested in. We are an all volunteer organization and appreciate your patience during this process.

Foster Homes are needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. Check out our website on how to become a Foster Parent! Why Adoption is a Great Option

MemphisMcPurr, a Carlisle Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Carlisle, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Carlisle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carlisle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carlisle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carlisle paves the way for another one to be saved.
