Austin's Story...
Austin is about 2 1/2 years old. He was rescued from outside where he was looking for food and a warm place to stay. Austin suffered through the brutal cold winter and lost most of the tips of his ears due to a bad case of frost bite.

He is very friendly, loves attention and purrs as soon as you pat him. He will follow you throughout the house, come up to you for pats and love, and sleep beside you on the sofa. He is a little hesitant around other cats, and sometimes stresses, so may be better in a single cat home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Austin, a Sunderland Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Sunderland, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Sunderland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sunderland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sunderland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sunderland paves the way for another one to be saved.
