Meet Max this big buttery love bug is looking for a Furever home. He loves head scratches,  belly rubz and has a loud purrrr meter when you give him love! He adores loafing around and laying in the window watching birds and squirrels! Max is a quiet lap cat and loves to snuggle with eveyone!!

He was found in Pontiac with a tail that was badly wounded and as a result most of his tail needed to be removed, thus he has a cute little nub left.  He is 2-3 years old living with one of our amazing fosters and her female cat who he gets along well with. He is UTD on his vaccinations, microchipped and has been neutered.

Max is being fostered in Hamtramck and NOT at the Ferndale Catfe Lounge.

Please fill out an application and provide this love bug with the home he deserves! We will connect you with our foster for a visit to meet this big lover!

Please note we only adopt kitties to Oakland, Wayne and Macomb, MI counties at this time.

About The Ferndale Cat Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Our organization works to help cats, kittens, and our community to promote happy and healthy lives for all.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Most of our pets are available through foster homes and arrangements will be scheduled at agreeable times with all parties.

We also have cats and kittens at our Catfe Lounge (821 Livernois in Ferndale) and can make arrangements for meetups there.

Our Adoption Process...

The Ferndale Cat Shelter vets and helps place cats and kittens from our community. We ask just $60 per cat or kitten over 6 months and $100 per kitten under 6 months, seniors (over 5) are $40. This includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping. We do not give away cats or kittens.

1. Complete an adoption form at We use this to try to determine good matches and to check out the potential adopter prior to meeting the potential pet.

2. We schedule a meeting with potential adopters and potential new family members to assess if this is a great match for everyone.

3. If everything clicks, we schedule a visit to the potential adopter's home where we go through our contract step by step.

4. The cats or kittens are then delivered to their new home and the adoption fee is collected. The new family member will be up to date on shorts and spayed/neutered.
