Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very devoted, we can't help but think of Willow. Her smile is shining...and maybe just a bit shy. Her Texas foster mom know it's morning when Willow's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a huge kiss of love.
This curious and really, really smart girl is approximately 2.5 - 3 years old and 10.8 lbs. This Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier mix is described as a love bug who is ready for a forever home where she can be a true best friend. There aren't many visible signs that Willow was in a very scary high-kill shelter. She can occasionally be shy and a bit hesitant in certain situations..but a warm hug and reassuring words and Willow bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer to her favorite person.
We picture Willow as the best friend to active retirees. She'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share her love and good will. There's also no question that Willow would be the most popular girl on the block. Once comfortable, she loves to engage and just be her entertaining and adorable self. Even though Willow is usually up for pretty much any activity, she's never pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps a long walk to socialize with neighbors.. and mental stimulation that comes from her time with her humans is important to this pup to keep her happy and well-behaved.
Willow would also enjoy time with older, very gentle, dog-loving kids. She's such an easy girl to bring along. You can just scoop her up and she'll lie happily in your arms. Or grab a backpack and Willow will love a hike through the mountains. If she gets tired, she'll snuggle down in your pack for a while with a great view from above. Willow derives so much joy from her relationships, we would love to see her in a family that just loves her dearly...she's a great pup who deserves this in her life. Willow would also be a great friend to another like-sized and gentle dog. She doesn't seem to require this to be content but would be an engaging companion.
This adorable and really engaging Maltese/Yorkie mix (Morkie) is a non-shedding girl (and great for those with allergy concerns). Willow will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her stunning coat cottony-soft and matt-free. As is evident in her photo, Willow's coat is in desperate need of TLC. We've requested that she be groomed in Texas..if this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover her grooming costs at our Denver grooming salon.
Willow will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/5/16. If interested in this sweet and very devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
