My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pretty Princes Heidi / Autumn Wants a Furever Home This Summer!
Female, Short-Coat, Medium-Size, black and tan, Young German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Selective Good with Cats: No Good with children: Yes
Heidi / Autumn is approximately 1-3 years old, and talk about a pretty princess! Autumn has a smile as big as the Grand Canyon. She’s a happy little girl and wants nothing more than to be with “her human.” In her previous home, Heidi / Autumn was very good with young children and one other dog, but did not do well with cats at all.
Heidi / Autumn has already learned a few commands, such as “sit” and “down,” and has been doing well walking on a leash using the Gentle Leader collar. She can be reactive toward other dogs when she’s on a leash, likely due to nervous energy, but with careful introduction, she would likely be OK with a playmate.
As a young dog, she is energetic and would be best for an active family that can take her for walks, hikes and other fun adventures. She is very smart, and with some consistent obedience training, Heidi / Autumn will thrive.
She’s incredibly sweet and loves people. Her previous owner raved about how great she is with kids. She will need an experienced German Shepherd owner to provide consistent, positive training to ensure her success.
As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application! All staff members are volunteers and aren’t compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
