Rhett's Story...
Everyone loves a sweet Southern gentleman. And, just like the literary character, little Rhett Butler is as fun-loving as they come. After warming up to new friends, this kitty loves deeply! His favorite thing to do is play, and Rhett can make a toy out of just about anything. Instead of a dashing black mustache, this Rhett has a furry white one and his silky fur coat is gorgeously black. He greets loved ones at the door, and is always excited to see you. If you are looking for more fun and love in your life, Rhett might be the perfect cat for you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rhett, a Jacksonville American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
