LAKE JACKSON SPCA VOLUNTEER....Bullet has got to be one of my favorites. Bullet is a mix of possibly mastiff/San Brainard- Pit mix. This is a very strong and heavy baby. Bullet loves to play with ropes and at times has more than 3 toys in his mouth, because they all belong to him according to Bullet. He walks better with a harness and leash(easier to control his size), Bullet has gone off site to stores and lays ... on the floor while your talking to someone. He is well behaved out in public. Bullet would do better in a home with older children. Because of his size he could knock you down just by leaning on you. If you have other pets it's best see if they get along before adopting him. If you have room for this big goofy dog come check him out at the SPCA. He is definitely a different kind of dog. If you have questions about him please feel free to contact me, I've worked with him for several weeks now.

Act quickly to adopt Bullet. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

About SPCA of Brazoria County

About Our Shelter...

The SPCA of Brazoria County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to leading Brazoria County to a time when there are no more homeless pets in our community.

Founded in 1974, the SPCA-BC has operated the Southern Brazoria County Animal Shelter since 2003. The Shelter is an open admission facility serving the Cities of Freeport, Clute, and Lake Jackson, Texas.

In order to reach our vision of “No More Homeless Pets,” the SPCA-BC is focused on four primary objectives:

Education. All animals have value and should be treated with compassion and respect. We believe in promoting responsible pet ownership, teaching children compassion toward animals, fostering a community of support for animal welfare, and bringing animal welfare issues to the forefront of community awareness.

Spay/Neuter. The only way to break the cycle of pet overpopulation in our community is to prevent unwanted pets from ever being born. Spayed and neutered pets are healthier, happier, and make better companions. We are committed to providing low-cost, high-volume spay and neuter procedures to our community.

Adoption. Adoptions are vital to our life-saving mission. Every pet deserves a loving home. We work hard each day to find homes for the homeless pets in our care.

A World-Class Shelter. Every pet deserves a home, but the reality is that there are thousands of homeless pets right here in our own community. We provide shelter, medical care, and a place of refuge for homeless pets as they wait to find their forever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is located at 141 Canna Lane in Lake Jackson. We also have cats available for adoption at the PetCo and PetSmart in Lake Jackson. We have offsite adoptions every Saturday at PetCo, PetSmart, and Brazos Mall and every Sunday at Brazos Mall.

We are open Tuesdays through Fridays from noon until 5:30 and Saturdays from 10-3.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters must present photo identification and fill out an application. Adopted pets can go home the same day. Our adoption fees range from free to $100. Check out our "Specials" on our Facebook page and Website. Pets not yet spayed or neutered will have a $25 refundable deposit added to the adoption fee.
