My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

VALENTINA is a 7 1/2 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 52 pounds. She is settling in to her new foster home and is a wonderful little girl. She is quite loving and follows her fosters from room to room. She will make a lovely companion for someone with a little patience who will give her the love and attention she's looking for. Valentina is eager to learn new tricks and responds very well to delicious treats. She knows Sit and Heel very well and is working on her Down. She loves Kongs stuffed with treats. In the afternoon she waits by the window for her foster parents to come home from work and greets them with effusive love and her trademark helicopter tailspin. She sleeps in her own bed and loves an early morning walk in the open spaces of the park nearby. Valentina is getting better about being left alone when her humans go out on occasion as she becomes more confident in her foster home. Val continues be a champion cuddler and loves cozying up on the couch with her humans. Her love for people doesn't stop there though, she loves on any person who wants to love her. She is a sucker for ear scratches and is a great kisser! She is continuing to perfect her "sit" and is working on adding additional commands to her skill set. Valentina has recently started branching out from sleeping with her humans at night and now enjoys having her own space on the dog bed in the bedroom.

Valentina came from a hoarding situation, so she's used to having human company, or another dog around. She lived with several dogs. Did fine meeting other dogs in her temporary foster home. She was too interested in the cats, so no cats. Valentina doesn't like to be crated. She's a calmer dog who rode nicely in the car during her long transport. Valentina needs to go to a home in a quiet neighborhood or rural area. She is looking for a home with humans home more than not. We don't have any kid history, so she's approved for kids ages 10+.

Update:: Valentina continues to show more and more of her sweet personality each day. She is a very quick learner. She likes to help my husband garden and rewards herself with tomatoes and red raspberries. Yes is loves to eat both and is a skilled picker! She enjoys her daily hikes and likes to ride shotgun to her hiking trail. Her favorite toy is the squeaky fleece ball and will pounce on it from feet away. She is a very happy girl with lots of energy when she is sprung from her crate after work. Still snuggling at night in bed and completely house trained.

Update: Valentina is the sweetest little girl. She loves to give and receive kisses, play with stuffed animals and sleep in bed with you at night, although she doesn't mind the recliner either. She might be 8 years old but she has the pep of a younger pup. Valentina likes to go on hikes and is very good on a leash. She just wants to be where you are…if you are up and about, she’s by your side. If you are lounging, she’ll nap until your next adventure. She rarely speaks but sometimes whimpers when you are out of sight. Very adaptable and eager to please her people. Valentina is looking for a home where her family will be home more often than not and would prefer to be a solo dog.
