Austin's Story...
Austin is a funny little male Saint that is between 1 ½ and 2 ½ years old. He came to us from another nokill shelter because they knew we were better suited for a rescued Saint. Austin is special needs Saint that has epilepsy. He is currently on medicine that controls his seizures. With the good RX program, his monthly pills are approximately $30.00 a month. If you know anything about epilepsy in dogs and are looking for a beautiful Saint, please consider giving our Austin a forever home. Austin is fully grown and weights approximately 90 pounds. He is neutered, heartworm negative and current on all vaccinations. With Austin being epileptic you cannot miss a morning or evening pill regiment. If you miss one treatment it will cause him to seize. Austin will also need blood work 2 times a year to monitor his condition and to make sure he is on the proper dosage of his medicine. Many people have had dogs with epilepsy and they live a very full and long life. If you are willing to provide a special home for this special boy please consider meeting our Austin.

In concern for families with small children, we will not adopt a dog to a home with any child under the age of 5. This is due to the large size of Saint Bernards and the safety of your children. Our Saint Bernards are not aggressive or mean in any way, they can just knock down children easily. If you would like to visit Austin please contact St. Cloud's Rescue at www.stcloudsrescue.org or call 972-679-5319. The first step in adopting from St. Cloud's Rescue is to complete an application. The application may be found OUR WEBSITE at www.stcloudsrescue.org. Please click on the application process, complete and then email it. Once the application has been sent please call us to confirm that we have received it. St.Cloud's Rescue maintains the right to deny applications to anyone for any reason we see fit. St. Cloud Rescue is a non-profit 501-c-3 organization. St. Clouds Rescue requires new owners to purchase a one year supply of heartworm preventative from us, which is at cost. We require a home visit prior to all placements. All our dogs must be microchipped at a cost of $20.00. There is a $250.00 donation fee. All dogs adopted through St Clouds Rescue must be indoor pets. St. Bernards cannot tolerate the extreme Texas weather conditions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Austin, a McKinney St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in McKinney, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in McKinney.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McKinney already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McKinney breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McKinney paves the way for another one to be saved.
