This cute guy is Cowboy, a young Australian cattle dog mix who you’ll fall in love with for sure! He has very unique coloring and is sure to turn some heads. He loves to be loved on and just wants to play, but he can also be very mellow considering he is still a puppy. He enjoys rope toys and hard bones or antlers. He is still young, so he’ll need plenty of appropriate toys to deter any puppy chewing.
Cowboy is very smart and should learn basic commands quickly. He walks well on a leash, and is house trained. He does not do well in a crate, and would do best in a home where he doesn't need to be crated, as he seems to have some anxiety when left in a crate. He has, however, mastered using a doggy door. He lives with a small dog at his foster’s house. He is curious about cats, but has not been around children since he was rescued.
Aussies are known for being very smart and focused dogs, so his ideal home will provide plenty of love, interaction and discipline. He will definitely benefit from regular exercise, so an active forever home with a backyard to play in would be perfect. He loves playing with other dogs, so having a canine companion would be a bonus. Contact DPA to meet Cowboy today!
