My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our sweet and beautiful Megan couldn't be more of a love bug no matter how hard she tried. Megan is a 2.5 - 3 year old Cairn Terrier/Border Terrier mix that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life.

Terrier mixes have grown in popularity tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their great temperaments, non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) coats and sweet and loyal personalities Farfel's rescues almost every Cairn mix that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great personalities and be loyal and loving family members. Megan has all these wonderful traits and was described by her Texas foster mom as a perfect lap dog.

Megan had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound…never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all…Megan doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Megan is young, she's somewhat of a blank slate…open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect.

Megan tends to be a happy girl who loves life and responds so well to nurturing and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Megan gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people's lap for belly rubs and soft touches.

Megan loves to come along (and is very portable at 18 lbs)..be it a hike on a beautiful trail, running errands or just hanging out…Megan would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere.

We envision Megan as an only-dog in a home that will provide her with tons of love, exercise and mental stimulation. We think that Megan would be ecstatic to get all the attention for the first time in her life. Children and other dogs are scary to her and we therefore are searching for an adult, single dog home. She'll be a very confident and happy best friend in this type of family.

Megan wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone…she is far too people-oriented to be content with that. A retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Megan would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's truly loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident companion and best friend.

Megan appears to be either a non-shedding or very lightly shedding girl. Therefore she will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (the addition of a salmon oil supplement would be great) to keep her coat healthy and gorgeous.

Megan is being fostered in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up. If interested in this very sweet girl who is a loyal best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder CO 80302.
