Ziggy's Story...
Ziggy is a sweet boy about 7-8 years old. He was shy at first but soon warmed up and gave lots of happy giving kisses - even a few to one of the other beagles! He is in need of a foster home or a forever home!

Ziggy came to us from a rural Virginia shelter, plum out of time. We're so glad he's here! Although our time with him has been short, he has been nothing but friendly, sweet, and happy. He gives kisses a-plenty when his nose isn't fast to the ground. In fact, he snuffled so much in the grass that we could hardly get his photo! He seems to get along well with other dogs. Cats are untried territory, but he's such an all around nice boy, we don't see them being much of a problem. Do you have room in your heart to give this nice fellow a home? He deserved so much better than dying in a shelter, don't you think? If you'd like to meet Ziggy, please contact icanhelp@beaglemaryland.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ziggy, a Waldorf Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
