Meet Louie,
Despite his good looks and the charm to boot he started out life in a pretty lousy spot. He ended up in a shelter at a very young age and spent approximately the first 6 months of his life with minimal socialization and crated. Fortunately he was able to get out of there and get a second chance at life. Without any real acclimation to his new situation his good looks still got him quickly adopted. Louie though was not ready for a traditional life yet, he didn't know how to behave or act in a home. He wasn't bad just hyper and too excited about having so much space and freedom, he had never been around children before and he just didn't know how to act or contain his exuberance. So our poor boy got returned and is now a part of our rescue. That was months ago and since then Louie has become quite a gentleman. He still has his energy and verve but he now lives in a home with several other dogs, cats and three young children. He now knows his manners and is a well-rounded polite young dog who is ready for his forever home. Louie is a boxer mix, around 50lbs, a tan color with short velvety fur. He is neutered, up to date on his shots and ready for a home.

About Carmen's Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Carmen’s Rescue is an approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization, located in Greenville / Simpsonville South Carolina. We are dedicated to the rescue of abandoned, abused and injured dogs. The prevention of cruelty to animals is our priority.
We work with committed volunteers, foster homes and local veterinarians. Once our rescue dogs are fully vetted, our goal is to place them in a loving, temporary foster home until we find them a well-matched, carefully screened, forever home.

Since March 2012 we have added a second branch to our rescue …..freeing dogs who have lived all of their lives on a chain.

We have educated people that this is not a life for a dog and offer to build kennels for their dog if the owner agrees to spay and neuter them

Our Adoption Process...

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

We prefer adopters own their residence, but exceptions can be made. If you rent, we need poof of your landlord to confirm a dog is allowed.

Any current animals must be up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm tested annually and on heartworm preventative.

All current animals have to be spayed / neutered.

All adults in the home must be in agreement about adding a new dog to the household.

All Applications must be submitted online with our Adoption Application.

We will conduct a personal reference check and vet reference check when applicable. Please call your vet office and ask them to note in your file that they can release information to us.

Once your reference check is complete, we will schedule a home visit. We are not looking to inspect your home, we are looking to make sure it is a safe environment for the dog.

If both parties decide to move forward with the adoption you will be required to sign a contract.
