found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed and up to date with shots.
With sweet expression and equally sweet disposition, Zima is an extremely sensitive, loving, gentle, and docile canine - spot on exactly as one would expect a hound’s temperament to be. And a pack-hound heart and soul she is; as such, she’s an extremely social dog who must have companionship or she will languish and become frustrated or depressed.
Also an active and athletic dog who is as interested in and curious about her environment as she is beautiful with it as her backdrop, this gloriously elegant dog will need good amounts of physical and mental activity to stay happy, healthy, and well-behaved. Put another way, she needs exercise, sometimes vigorous, on a regular basis to prevent restlessness and/or other behavioral issues from arising.
Attentive, obedient, intelligent with a high learning capacity, and quick to please when she knows what is expected of her, Zima is built to think independently and be intense in the field. This means if left to her own devises and led only by her natural instinct and keen nose, she’s most likely headed for trouble. Keep in mind as well – Hounds have no road sense whatsoever so they need supervision and/or a secure place to romp and explore outdoors.
Simply put, for Zima to be a successful, happy, and well-mannered family pet she needs responsible, caring owners willing to provide her with three things: (1) patient, consistent leadership and training, (2) regular vigorous exercise, and (3) lifelong companionship - pretty much the same thing all dogs need.
Zima is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with an active lifestyle. We think she’ll get along well with compatible, similar-sized dogs she has been properly introduced to, but a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption. Very comfortable around and extremely loving with children, she’ll do well in just about any home where children and pets alike are taught to respect boundaries and interaction is monitored as it should be.
You can meet Zima at Monroe SPCA adoption events and by pre-arrangement with approved Adoption Application. All Monroe SPCA dogs available for adoption and in foster homes have an adoption fee of $200.00. This fee includes the dog being spayed or neutered, HW negative, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
