Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We first saw Mac on a routine visit to Chicago Animal Care and Control in mid July. His stunning looks and happy mug melted our hearts immediately and we knew he was special, despite a severe case of "happy tail". Happy tail is a common condition where, due to smaller spaces and a very "happy", wagging tail, the tip of the tail hits walls or other interferences and it will actually split open and begin to bleed.
Mac was taken into our program after spending about a month, overlooked, in the city shelter. The entire freedom ride home, he insisted on giving us "paw" and sat nicely in the backseat, even giving licks to the other dog we pulled that day. Clearly, Mac knew he was finally safe!
In his foster home, Mac is clearly a dog friendly dog. His happy tail is healing nicely and he is currently accepting adoption applications although he won't be officially available for a few weeks. He still has to gain a few pounds since due to stress in the shelter, he lost a considerable amount of muscle mass. So, even though very skinny, he's still an 80lb dog! The vet estimates that once healthy, Mac will easily be a dog weighing over 100lbs (but don't tell him that because he still thinks he's a little lap dog).

***Blank inquiries will not be replied to as we are a small organization and our volunteers time is limited. If you are serious about adopting a specific dog, please visit www.playersforpits.com to complete an adoption application. Once an application is completed, a representative will contact you to set up a time to meet the dog you have applied for. Thank you for your understanding!***
