Kiko*Adopted's Story...

Adoption Donation: $250.00

Kiko is the cutest little peanut!  This sweet boy weighs only 4 pounds and is probably 8 years old.  He ideally needs to gain another couple of ounces, and we're working on that.

He was a terrible mess when found, but Kiko is well on his way to being the most gorgeous fellow.  His brand new coat is coming in soft and snowy white.  He has perfect Maltese button eyes and nose, and he looks like a brand new toy.  He needs gentle hands and a careful owner who will watch out for him since he is so tiny.  He thinks he is a big dog, and he loves to protect his foster family from danger.  He's not a yappy boy but will let you know if something is amiss 'cause that's his job.

Kiko needs eye drops several times a day for 'dry eye' which is a very common condition and is easy to care for.  The best part....he is perfectly housetrained!!

Kiko is being fostered in Largo, FL

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kiko*Adopted, a Gainesville Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Gainesville, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Gainesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gainesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gainesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gainesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
