My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy!

This giant love sponge was abandoned by her family in a backyard when they moved. The neighbors took care of her for awhile but she still found herself in a shelter. We were originally told this girl was 12 yrs old but the vet said she is more in the 7 range, which makes sense as her foster Mom says she acts like a puppy! Lots of energy, loves to play and absolutely LOVES to snuggle. She has learned the fine art of house training, is crate trained and has also learned how to use the dog door. Lucy will do best in a quieter home with a calmer environment.

She is getting along with the small dogs in the house but she did take a bit to warm up them. Proper introduction to new dogs and time to adjust will be the key with Lucy.

Lucy is fully vetted and will need to continue her heartworm treatment in her new home.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
