Sweet Pea's Story...
Sweet Pea is one of our recent puppy mill rescues — she is a chubby (11-12 lbs) six year old Silky Terrier who is a retired breeding dog. She is very shy, but coming out of her shell. Although she has lived with dogs her whole life, she has decided she does not want to share her new home with one (she got very jealous in her last home). She has been spayed and house-trained (both outside and wee-wee pads). Fostered in White Plains. NO phone calls pls, contact diezeldog@me.com for more info. pls fill out an application at catassistanceny.org and we will be back in touch with you. thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweet Pea, a Ardsley Silky Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Silky Terrier for sale in Ardsley, or seeking a Silky Terrier dog from a breeder in Ardsley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ardsley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ardsley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Silky Terrier breeders who help with Silky Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ardsley paves the way for another one to be saved.
