Here's what the humans have to say about me:
CHAPO IS AVAILABLE TO ADOPTERS WITH PREVIOUS GIANT, GUARDIAN BREED EXPERIENCE ONLY.
Chapo is the hunkiest Neapolitan Mastiff this side of the Mississippi! This handsome boy is a few months shy of his 2nd birthday, and he would like to spend it with his new family.
Chapo's life before the Bullpen was pretty awful. He was chained up behind a body shop from the time he was a puppy and had no socialization or manners. He hadn't ever played in the grass or slept on a soft bed, but all that changed when he came to stay with us!
We have been slowly introducing Chapo to the other dogs here, and we haven't seen any aggression at all. He just wants to play, even if he's a little awkward in expressing it. :) We don't know Chapo's feelings on felines, and because he's so big and still learning doggy manners, he needs a home with kids over 12.
Chapo is very smart, knows how to sit and shake with both hands, and will use a doggie door if available. He loves to play with his squeaky ball and get belly rubs. He is getting better on a leash every day, but will need a home that will continue to work with him on it, as well as on his general doggy manners. Chapo is neutered, microchipped, current on his vaccinations, and heart worm negative and on preventive.
Chapo's adoption fee is $450
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
