Woof, woof! My name is Zircon and I am a male beagle mix pup that is available for adoption through Penny Angels. My momma, Jewel, was found as a stray and rescued from a shelter in South Carolina. She gave birth to 7 puppies in a lovely foster home on June 11. The foster mom gave us all our beautiful names and affectionately called us ‘Gemstones’. We stayed in our foster home until we were old enough to make the trek up to NJ with a wonderful PABR volunteer on July 27. Some of my siblings met their new families on August 13, and now it is my turn! I was recently neutered and microchipped, and am up-to-date with vaccinations for my age, but will require 1-2 more sets of vaccinations within the next month or two.
My mom is a tiny beagle, only weighing 18 lbs. I never met my dad, but I think he was a lab. It looks like I will be a bigger dog, possibly weighing about 40-45 lbs. when I am full grown. I am a cute puppy with moderate puppy energy. I like chewing on puppy Nylabones and playing with my siblings, but I also like to snuggle up with them when I run out of energy. I will need to be taught some basic puppy skills so that I can grow up to be a well-mannered adult dog. My ideal home would be with someone who has some time during the day to work with me. Right now, I have a tiny bladder and will need to be taken outside for potty breaks more frequently, so please keep that in mind when you inquire about me.
