I’m the typical black color of a Lab but you can see a little of the Hound in me if you look closely!  I’m looking for a home where I can be top dog – not that I won’t get along with other dogs but I like to run the show!  I will try to even dominate my people by jumping up on them or constantly wanting to put a paw on them but I’m not aggressive about it…just insistent.  I’ve lived with kids and cats and do fine with both although older kids might be better because of my jumping on up them.  I don’t really want to hurt them.  I really need someone with a firm but gentle hand to remind me that I’m NOT always in charge! I need a new home mostly because my owners have moved and without a fence, I try to follow them down the driveway and onto the main highway.  That could be really dangerous for me since I’m not used to watching out for traffic and such.  I’ve lived most of my life outside and I’ve always had a fenced yard.  Do you need a potentially great companion, maybe even to hunt with or just hang out with you?  Well, just fill out an app and my owner will set up a meeting with you to see what happens! I am 5 years old and weigh 80#.

About Second Chance Companions

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1993, Second Chance Companions is a 501(c) 3 non-profit pet organization dedicated to helping animals in SW Washington and the Portland Metro area.

We are a humane, no-kill organization staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers.

Although we do not run an independent shelter, we feed, care for, adopt out, and spay & neuter as many animals as possible. In addition, we educate the community and are always seeking volunteers and resources that help us to accomplish our mission.

We have a small number of foster homes available, but also work with private owners who keep their pets while looking for homes for them.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have cats available for adoption all the time at the Vancouver Plaza and Gresham Petsmarts.

We also have adoption events most every weekend and often during the week too. See all of our currently scheduled events at:
