Dachshund Rescue of Northern California (DRNC) is a network of independent volunteers who work together with the primary mission to rescue and foster abandoned, abused, and unwanted dachshunds. We are a smaller, foster based rescue, meaning we care for our dogs in our homes and our foster's homes. It gives us more one on one time with the dogs that need it the most.
Meet Dio, a 4 yr old, 11 lb, red male mini dachshund located in San Ramon. He is a sweet boy who loves playing with his stuffed animals, running around the dog park and cuddling. He is good with most people, and children 10 and up. He is not the best with other dogs and is not good with cats. He is being rehomed as his owners do not have the time to give him the attention he needs. He has also lost his back yard as they split up and had to move into an apartment.
Dio and his littermate Sid are being offered for adoption, but are not considered a bonded pair and can be adopted separately.
If you are interested in adopting Dio, please go to our website at www.drnc.org and complete the Adoption Application.
The following is a breakdown of our Adoption Process:
WE REQUIRE AN ADOPTION FEE that ranges from $100 to $350 per dog adopted. The fees vary according to the age, health and needs of each dachshund. They help cover the cost of any medical expenses, boarding, feed, etc. incurred by the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not cover the cost of the dog, but may be covered by the fee of another.
