** IN VERMONT ** Meet Candy aka Andie! More pics and video to come! Andie is approx. 16 mos old, about 55 lbs., vetted, spayed, and micro-chipped. We swear she is part Boxer! She is the body, uses her paws, her eyes, and her cute underbite are all boxer like! Candy dose well with other dogs and loves to play. She needs to be monitored in her play as she enjoys to play very energetically. She's playful with new dogs, but can come off a little strong. We have not observed her to have any bad intentions with other dogs/attack instincts. She has a doggy best friend carol, who is a high energy pitty / boxer mix. They love to chase each other and 'box' and wrestle playfully. We are unsure how she would do with cats. She really likes to hear that she is a "good girl". Andie is an extremely people oriented; happy, energetic, and a joyful girl. She will instantly love on you and shower you with kisses. She loves squeaky toys, throwing them up to her self and carrying them around. She is very good so far at making the distinction between toys and owners' possessions. She will rip her toys to shreds but doesn't touch clothes, bags, trash etc. Her ideal family will be active and assertive yet fun and committed to helping a sweet girl learn boundaries. Play time and exercise are essential. Hiking buddy anyone? Andie knows sit, lie down and stay she is working on her leash skills. Per her Foster family she is the most loveable lil thing ever. Brilliant, super affectionate, and playful in all the right ways. Andie would dig someone active who can bring her along on adventures.

Disclosure:   Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue.  Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance!   Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed.  Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.

About Passion 4 Paws

About Our Rescue Group...

Passion 4 Paws is an animal rescue organization founded by Robin Shover of Shelburne, Vermont. Robin has invested many years learning best practices to rescue dogs primarily from death row at high kill shelters. Robin works very closely with Potters Angels Rescue out of Randolph, Vermont and decided the most effective way to save even more dogs is to continue working closely with PAR plus her own new entity in Chittenden County and surrounding areas. Many people who personally know Robin realize her "passion" and dedication to the dogs. P4Ps rescues dogs from high kill shelters, provides a safe environment with foster families and adopters, education for the community, and advocacy for animal rights. Our group will be staffed entirely by volunteers and will be served by a Board of Directors. Our efforts will be supported through donations, charity events, Corporate/Employee Benefit tax deductible donation programs, and the generosity of animal lovers from within the community. Our focus is on dog rescue only. All funds received will be used strictly for this purpose and will incorporate medical bills, transport fees, food and other items for the dogs, shelter fees, charity events, boarding, and training.
