Benji's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Benji's Story...
"Benji" is a 3 year old ShihTzu currently in foster care at FairyTails Pet Spaw. He has had a troubled past- in and out of homes and the shelter because of his behavior. After medical testing it was determined he has a Liver Shunt which would explain his out of nowhere temperment. The vet has recommended some medical treatments with a combination of nutrition to see if it can be maintained. Ammonia builds up in his body and causes a chemical reaction in his brain. He is house trained, we are going to recommend a one person home with no children. He does bond to one person.
He is doing really well with his medication and food. His medication is going to cost about $25 a month and he's eating a low protein dog food by Blue Buffalo.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benji, a Winchester Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Winchester, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Winchester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winchester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winchester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winchester paves the way for another one to be saved.
