Owen New Leash on Life trainee's Story...
Hello everyone, my name is Owen and I’m a laid back kinda guy. A nicer southern gentleman you’ll never find and we could share a long life together, since I’m only around 3 years old. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I’d love nothing better than to lie at your feet in the evenings while you work on your computer. And I could even be persuaded to become your large couch potato. Definitely not a high energy guy but as a hound I am going to want fenced in yard.

As New Leash on a Life graduate I’ll be housebroken, crate trained, UTD on all vaccines, altered, fully vetted, heartworm tested, and obedience trained. Adopting families are invited to come to my graduation in Sept. I can’t wait to show you all the new tricks I’ll have learned. If I sound like your kinda doggie contact Penny at 252-249-1453 and fill out an adoption application at pamlicopaws.net.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Owen New Leash on Life trainee, a Oriental Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Oriental, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Oriental.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oriental already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oriental breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oriental paves the way for another one to be saved.
