Are you kidding me?? It's really my turn to find a family??? I can't wait! And i can tell you exactly what sort of family would be best for me. But first, let me tell you a bit about me. My name is Loki, I'm about 7 months old and weigh (currently) 46 lbs. As you may be able to deduce by my handsome ears,,,I am part german shepherd (my daddy) and my mom was a great dane so expect me to be a large boy once the growing is complete!! I was rescued by the county dog pound after someone (thankfully) reported that my previous "owners" tied me outside with no food, water or shelter for long periods of time. And I gotta tell you, it was HOT AS..... well you know!! So the pound took me and called the rescue to see if they could help out. Once the girls from the rescue met me they fell in love with my playful and loving personality and busted me out of the pound and straight into a great (air conditioned) home!! I have 2 (big) foster doggie siblings and we play like CRAZY!!! I am alllll puppy when it comes to playing. I play hard and sleep hard!! If you have another dog, he/she will need to be ready to play and the girls here feel that if you have a smaller dog I may be a bit overwhelming for him/her as a result they are saying that it would be best for me to go to a home with dogs that can keep up with my energy level/size. I would also be just fantastic as an only dog if you have the time and energy to exercise me!! If not, Iwill find my OWN ways to expend all my energy and welll, let's face it you may not be happy with the outcome!! I am doing pretty good with my potty habits and crate training but even though I am not a teeny tiny puppy I am still very young and will need continued guidance, consistency and patience. I have just recently learned to love car rides and really enjoy going thru drive thru banks with foster mom because I always get doggie treats!! I have not met a human or doggie that I haven't liked and kids,,,,welll, as you can imagine I LOVE them because they have the same energy level as I do. The perfect home for me will have to provide me with lots of exercise to run off my puppy energy and then be willing to allow all 46lbs of me to snuggle up to them on the couch when I'm all tired out! I am still learning proper leash habits and will require continued work in that area as well. I do much better with an "Easy Walk" harness as oppossed to a simple collar/leash combo. You know what would be great??? If you and I could take some basic puppy classes together!! I learn quickly (currently respond to a firm "NO" when doing something inappropriate) and it would be an awesome bonding time for us. I've been pretty good about not picking up stuff laying around my foster home and chewing on things but my foster Mom is very well seasoned when it comes to puppies so she knows not to leave thing just laying around. But one time she forgot and I had me a little "chewfest" on her flip flops. Can't blame me, I see that as a "crime of opportunity". Think she will leave her shoes laying around again??? I think not!! lol Anyhoo, if you are ready for some crazy puppy antics and lots of cuddletime then fill out that application so we can meet up!! love, loki xoxoxo

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LOKI**7 MONTHS, a Mentor German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane for sale in Mentor, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane dog from a breeder in Mentor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mentor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mentor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mentor paves the way for another one to be saved.
