Snowball’s foster mom says, “He just wants to be LOVED and petted!” This teeny 10#, 3 year old Chihuahua boy was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Louisiana after his owners decided they could no longer care for him. Because of his shy personality at the crowded shelter, Snowball found himself in danger of being put to sleep. Thankfully, Snowball was saved thanks to a great friendship between PAWS of NE LA and The Chi Society. Snowball was a happy boy to be back in a home environment and especially loves his foster mom and dad. It took him longer to warm up to his teenage foster sister and the other dogs in his foster home but his foster parents are working with him to help him understand there is plenty of love to go around. Snowball is house trained and crate trained but does fine un-crated when his foster family is away at work and school. He walks nicely on leash and knows how to sit. He is fostered in a busy household but would probably be happier in a quieter home. A home with a steady routine and less “strangers” would likely be best for Snowball… he has a pretty typical Chihuahua personality in that regard. Strangers and loud noises/fast movements seem to stress Snowball. Snowball’s foster mom says that, “I think the best home for Snowball would be a calm home with adults and other calm dogs. He would probably be fine as only dog too. He thinks he is supposed to go for a ride every time we leave the house. He runs out to my SUV and jumps in the backseat and waits for us to get in. Then he wants the window down just enough to sniff the air as he rides. I love the way he holds his neck completely backwards while you pet him (see his video)! He's sooo stinking cute!!! I love that he shares the edge of my pillow at bedtime. “
Snowball is neutered, micro chipped, heartworm negative and current on prevention, fully vaccinated and current on monthly flea/tick prevention....please email us at TheChiSociety@gmail.com to apply for Mr. Snowball...:)

All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative. In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog. In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs. Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog. Thank you for considering a rescued pet and we look forward to helping you find a great dog match--
